Cross Necklaces

So This week turned out to be a real hit! Sam and I got there and started posting up signs and meeting people and speaking with them about art class...and although it doesn't sound like a lot of people, we had an average of 5 adults come in to participate in our activity! We had a total of 6 adults that tried to participate all together (though some couldn't stay the whole time).


We were working with beads and necklaces, and I was nervous that the men wouldn't be enthusiastic about making a 'feminine necklace' or bracelet....but they all loved it! They were thrilled to be making them.

One man did an Excellent job at necklace making with the use of his patterns. He chose beautifully colored beads that all worked well together, and ended up making a necklace and a bracelet.

And one of the women there decided to be more ambiguous and create a huge cross necklace. It was beautiful, and hung right around her neck. At first it seemed like she made it a bit too large to handle or hold up its own weight..but after a bit of fussing with it, I think she was very happy with the results...and so were we:)
